Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) - Recognizes Macleod Pharmaceuticals for sponsorship
Secretariat's owner, Penny Chenery, was a TRF founder nearly 30 years ago.
Kate Chenery Tweedy, daughter of Penny Chenery and author of Secretariat's Meadow: The Land, The Family, The Legend, visited veterinary conventions where she offered book signings of her new book, which benefited the TRF.
The events were sponsored by Macleod Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Fort Collins, Colorado.
Kate, the TRF, and Macleod teamed up in December, 2010 at the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) conference in Baltimore, Maryland. The event was such a resounding success that they teamed up again in January at the North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC) in Orlando, Florida.
The next book signing will be at the Western Veterinary Conference (WVC) held in Las Vegas, Neveda, February, 2011.
" Macleod gave their customers copies of Secretariat's Meadow, and Kate was there to sign them. Other conference attendees were welcome to purchase the book. The publisher and Macleod donated a portion of every book sold to the TRF.
